Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your Nitya account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, what we retain, and how to submit a request.
What is deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data is permanently removed within 30 days of your confirmed request:
- Your account credentials (email address, hashed password)
- All reminders, tasks, notes, and conversations you created
- Your assistant memory and recalled context
- Push notification tokens registered to your device(s)
- Any connected service OAuth tokens (e.g. Google Calendar refresh tokens)
- Your notification preferences, work-hour settings, and other configuration
- Any feedback you submitted through the app
What we retain
After deletion we may retain the following for a limited period for legal or operational reasons:
- Anonymised aggregate usage statistics — stripped of any link to your identity, retained indefinitely for product improvement.
- Server logs — standard infrastructure logs (IP address, HTTP status codes) retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then automatically deleted.
- Legal hold data — if we are required by law to preserve specific data, we will do so for the legally required period and no longer.
How to delete your data
Open Nitya → More → Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately deactivates your account and schedules all data for deletion within 30 days.
If you no longer have access to the app, send an email to hello@heynitya.com with:
- Subject line: Account Deletion Request
- The email address associated with your Nitya account
- A brief description of what you want deleted (full account, or specific data only)
We will confirm your identity, process the request, and send you a confirmation email.

You can delete individual items (reminders, tasks, notes, conversations) directly from within the app at any time without deleting your whole account. Deleted items are removed immediately from the app interface and purged from our database within 7 days.
To disconnect a connected service (such as Google Calendar) without deleting your account, go to Settings → Connected accounts → Google Calendar → Disconnect. This removes all associated OAuth tokens immediately.
Third-party data
When you use Nitya with connected services (e.g. Google Calendar), data held by those third-party services is governed by their own privacy and deletion policies. Disconnecting Google Calendar from Nitya removes our copy of your OAuth tokens; it does not affect data Google holds about you independently.
